My name is Adam Payne and I was born in Bend in 1980 and raised a Central Oregon kid. After a little runnin’ around Utah and then Portland, I married my beautiful wife Elise and in 2018 our first daughter was born. That same year we formed Cascadia Design Build and we have been remodeling and helping homeowners with their home projects ever since. Remodeling has been the core of our business and we have been lucky enough to help some really amazing clients with their homes.

My wife, Elise, and I packed up and moved back to Central Oregon in 2019, and are so lucky to call Sisters “home”. Elise is an interior designer, owner and operator of her own business, Foraged Interiors, and has been an integral part of our business.

In 2025 we were evacuated by the Flat Fire as the wind direction had a bullseye on our property. We went to bed that night in a friend’s guest bedroom thinking there was a 50/50 chance we would still have a home in the morning. We were extremely lucky that Sisters got the needed resources and we were able to come home 6 days later thanks to the outstanding efforts of all the fire-fighters. I had already done a lot of home hardening around our property but it was in those days and following months that I knew I had not yet done enough. Perfection will never be attainable, but there are some real proven methods to reduce our vulnerabilities.

A lot of time, research and effort has been put into protecting our home and investment, now the only path forward is to offer those same services to our community.
